The Asia Poker League is still relatively new in the live poker world, having only begun in 2016.

In that time, it has grown persistently and moved out of its early home in China to tour Asia. The long-anticipated Vietnamese stop in Ho Chi Minh City at Pro Poker Club has now arrived, with the opening four events having now reached completion.

Asia Poker League는 신생 라이브 포커 대회로써 2016년에 시작되었습니다.

하지만 불과 3년만에 첫 투어인 China를 벗어나 세계 곳곳에서 대회가 꾸준히 열리는 리그로 성장하게 되었습니다. 10월에도 과거 대회가 열린 스팟 중 한 곳인 베트남 – 호치민 시티에 위치한 Pro Poker Club 에서 시리즈가 개최되었고 벌써 4명의 플레이어가 각각의 오프닝 이벤트에서 우승을 차지했습니다.

The opening event of this APL festival saw a healthy turnout of 275 runners, each paying the VND6,600,000 (US$285) entry fee and contributing to the eventual prize pool of VND1,600,500,000 (US$69,094). Only 41 players would go on to cash the event with over VND400,000,000 set aside for the winner.

APL Festival 오프닝 이벤트인 Kick-off 이벤트는 275 VND6,600,000 (US$285)  바이인 이였으며 275명이 참가함으로써 총상금 VND1,600,500,000 (US$69,094)의 대회로 진행되었습니다. 41명만이 입상을 하는 구조 였으며 우승상금은 VND400,000,000 이 넘었습니다.

The final stages were a tense affair, with Vietnamese duo Duy Lam Nguyen and Khoi Nguyen seeking to get the festival off to a flying start for the players on home soil. With China’s Yew Fatt Kan falling in 4th place, there seemed to be every chance of a Vietnamese winner, but Norway’s Kjell Ove Dyb was proving a hard obstacle to pass as he continued to gather chips. Ultimately, it came down to Khoi Nguyen and Kjell Ove Dyb, and the Norwegian refused to be denied the title, claiming victory heads up and taking the top prize.

파이널 테이블에는 쟁쟁한 플레이어들이 올라왔는데요, 베트남 듀오인 Duy Lam Nguyen 와 Khoi Nguyen 가 대회 첫 이벤트 우승을 향해 달려가고 있었으며 중국 출신의 Yew Fatt Kan이 4위로 탈락하며 로컬 프로가 첫 대회 우승을 하지 않을까 다들 생각 했습니다. 하지만 노르웨이 출신의 Kjell Ove Dyb가 이러한 예상을 뒤업고 계속해서 칩을 쌓아갔으며 결국 헤즈업에서 Khoi Nguyen을 물리치고 우승 트로피와 상금을 거머쥐었습니다.

The first event in the series to conclude was the VND5,500,000 (US$237) NLH Turbo 1. The total field size hit just 34 which was still enough to generate a prize pool of VND144,900,000 (US$6,255), with 5 going on to reach the money.

시리즈 첫날에 열린 사이드 이벤트 NLH Turbo 1은 US$237 바이인의 대회였으며 총 34명이 참가했고 5명이 머니인을 하는 구조를 가졌습니다.

Anthony Chech’s elimination in 4th place left three Vietnamese contenders to fight it out for the title. Quang Nguyen was the first of them to fall, leaving Hoai Lam Vu and Huy Hoang Tran to contest the title. Hoai Lam Vu put up a spirited resistance, but in the end the day belonged to Tran who picked up the trophy and pocketed the top prize.

4명이 남은 상황에서 Anthony Chech가 4위로 탈락하며 남은 3명의 베트남 플레이어가 우승을 놓고 겨루게 되었습니다. 서로가 격렬히 맞붙었지만 결국 Huy Hoang Tran이 우승을 차지하며 상금과 트로피를 거머쥐었습니다.

The KO Bounty Turbo event saw 47 hopefuls pay the VND6,600,000 (US$285) buy in to take their shot at the title. This helped the prize pool hit VND164,900,000 (US$7,119) with almost VND80,000,000 set aside for the winner.

The latter stages were of special interest as APL founder Judic Kim made a deep run, eventually busting in 4th place. He was followed to the rail shortly after by Anh Tuan La, leaving Therotakoorat Thananat and Huy Thai Nguyen heads up for the title. In the end, Nguyen was able to triumph over his opponent, picking up a coveted APL title and a career-best score.

The KO Bounty Turbo event는 VND6,600,000 (US$285)  바이인 대회에 총 47명이 참가 했으며 VND80,000,000 에 가까운 우승상금을 놓고 경쟁하게 되었습니다.

이번 이벤트에선 흥미롭게도 APL 설립자인 Judic Kim이 딥런을 가지게 되었고 결국 4위로 대회를 마감 했습니다. 그 뒤를 이어 Anh Tuan La가 3위로 탈락하게 되며 헤즈업에서 태국 출신의 Therotakoorat Thananat과 베트남 출신의 Huy Thai Nguyen이 만나게 되었고 결국 Nguyen이 헤즈업 매치에서 모든 칩을 획득하며 우승 트로피와 상금을 가져갔습니다.

This turbo event carried a slightly higher buy in of VND7,700,000 (US$332), and with 52 participants the total prize pool reached VND353,080,000 (US$15,246). 7 players went on to make the money with over VND130,000,000 up top.

Despite around half of the final table being made up of Vietnamese competitors, the final stages of this tournament were all about China’s Bin Zhang and Chao Xi. The pair were unstoppable at the final table, accumulating chips and busting players with apparent ease as they cruised towards the heads-up stage. The elimination of Thanh Vinh Tran in 3rd place set the stage for the final fight, with Chao Xi eventually finding a way past his compatriot.

딥스택 터보 대회는 앞선 사이드 이벤트들 보다 조금 더 높은 VND7,700,000 (US$332)의 바이인이 책정되었으며 52명이 대회를 참가하며 총 상금 VND353,080,000 (US$15,246)로 진행되었습니다. 7명만이 머니인을 하는 구조였으며 우승상금은 VND130,000,000 이 넘었습니다.

파이널 테이블에 오른 멤버 중 절반이 베트남 출신 플레이어였으나 중국 출신의 Bin Zhang 과 Chao Xi의 독무대였습니다. 이 둘은 파이널 테이블이 시작되고 끊임 없이 칩을 쌓아 올렸으며 계속해서 플레이어들을 탈락시켰고 결국 중국 플레이어들의 헤즈업 매치가 성사 되었습니다. 결국 Chao Xi가 이 매치에서 승리하며 우승상금과 트로피를 거머쥐었습니다.

시리즈는 계속해서 진행중!

The opening events have certainly brought plenty of action with them, but the best is most certainly still to come. Among the key events yet to finish are the VND15,000,000 (US$648) Main Event which got underway on October 6th. There are four starting day flights, with days 1b, 1c and 1d taking place on the 7th, 8th and 9th.

In addition, Friday the 11th of October sees the VND30,000,000 (US$1,295) High Roller begin, with three day 1 starting flights scheduled between the 11th and 13th. The final table will play out on October 14th.

오프닝 이벤트부터 많은 플레이어들이 참여했지만 아직까지 여러 중요한 대회와 더불어 메인 이벤트가 남아있습니다. VND15,000,000 (US$648) Main Event 는 10월 6일에 시작되며 4일간 Day 1 Flight가 진행됩니다.
